Five Card Draw Poker
To all poker players this is one of the easiest poker games to learn. For first time players’, understanding the rules of five-card draw becomes easier to understand each time they play.
The Draw
The game begins with 2 to 8 players. Each player begins by placing an ante into the pot to play. The dealer passes out five cards face down to each player from left to right this is termed the blind. Players look at their cards, beginning with the first player opening the game with a fold, call or raise. The rest of the players follow the same lead until the last player has placed their bet to stay in the game. This is known as the first round.
The next round is the draw, players from left to right decide to discard or hold their cards. From left to right, the dealer replaces the discarded cards from each player resuming a five-card count. Players either fold or bet on their cards.
Suits
Each suit holds four face cards: Ace- A, King– K, Queen- Q, Jack- J
Each suit holds a set of number cards 2-10.
The player’s strategy is to win with a strong suit, which is a combination of the five cards.
1. A Royal Flush follows an order sequence and is the same suit: A, K, Q, J, 10; or 2, 3, 4, 5, 6
2. A Flush is a random combination of the same suit: A, 3, 4, 7, 10.
3. Two of kind is two kings or any combination pairs.
4. Three of a kind is three kings or any combination of three.
5. Four of a kind is four cards that are the same.
The best hand of all players will win the pot and the game.
